Add tracking parameters - "Tracking" tab

How to add tracking parameters in my product URLs?

If you use Google Analytics, Xiti, Eulerian or another tool to track your traffic, Lengow allows you to add tracking parameters in your products URLs.

These parameters are configurable in your interface at the feed level.

1. I want to implement a tracking for Google Analytics and/or Xiti

To help you add your tracking parameters in your feed, Lengow proposes you a dedicated module within the "Tracking" tab.

If you use one of the following tracking tools, you have the possibility to choose the values that will be added in the parameters :

  • Xiti : xtor
  • Eulerian : Domaine, Nom, Publisher et Name
  • Google Analytics : utm_source, utm_medium, utm_term et utm_campaign

Select a field from your data feed using the drop down menu, or specify a default value in the field.

2. Special case

2.1 I want to implement my own parameters

You can directly add your parameters nearby your URL field in the field matching.

  • If parameters have to be placed after the product URL:

You have to match your URL field with the partner's and add your parameters in the field « Personalized Field ».

For instance, I add a parameter called « origine » after my product URL:

  • If parameters have to be placed before the product URL:

Do not match your field with the partner's. Start directly in the field « Personalized Field » and then add your field name in brackets.

In this example, the field name url_link is placed between brackets to get the field value in a dynamic way. For instance, for a TradeDoubler tracking, you will have to place this in the personalized field: http://clk.tradedoubler.com/click?p=1578951&a=4578924&g=12457862&epi={id}&url={url_link}

2.2 The channel is asking for my product URLs in two different fields but only one of them accepts Lengow tracking

When Lengow tracking is activated, it applies to all the channel fields to which you have matched the field from your source feed that contains your product URLs.

Some channels have two fields available in which you can enter your product URL:

  • one field which accepts tracking, including Lengow tracking;
  • one field that does not accept tracking.

In the case of the channel field that does accept tracking, match it with the field in your source feed that contains your product URLs.

or

Here, Lengow tracking will be applied to the channel's "product-url" field and the optimised feed will contain product URLs of this type:

In the case of the channel field that does not accept tracking, carry out the following steps:

  1. Creating a virtual field.

  1. Match this virtual field with the channel field that does not accept tracking via "Field matching".

  1. Create and apply an automatic rule to populate this virtual field with the field from your source feed that contains your product URLs.

Here, Lengow tracking will not be applied to the channel's "landing-page-url" field and the optimised feed will contain product URLs of this type:
