Amazon / Summer sales 2019

Amazon marketplace has only one way to promote reduced prices. Products both on sale period and non-sale period are highlighted the same way.

Consider the following expression “on sale” or “sales” is employed for both periods.

Please find below the tutorial to help you defining the parameters of sales on Amazon.

4 fields need to be completed within the Amazon structure to inform the marketplace that you are willing to propose reduced prices or sale prices:

  • « standard_price » field : the striked price for products which are on sale should be present in this field
  • « sale_price » field : the sale price should be present in this field
  • « sale_from_date » field : you should indicate a starting date for sale (it should follow this nomenclature : yyyy-mm-dd , you may choose the following value “2022-01-01”).
  • « sale_end_date »field : you should indicate an ending date for sale (it should follow this nomenclature : yyyy-mm-dd , you may choose the following value “2099-01-01”).

1. Define parameters for sales in Lengow

On the « Field Matching » tab you should match the following Amazon fields: “sale_price”, “sale_from_date” (the start-date) and “sale_end_date” (the end-date) with your fields “REDUCTION_PRICE” , “Amazon_Sale From Date” and Amazon_Sale Through Date”.

Those 3 fields are interdependant, if one of them contains a date or a price, the two others should be filled in. Here is an automatic rule example (based on a Prestashop source feed):

IF PRICE_PRODUCT IS NOT {PRICE_REDUCTION} SO

  • Amazon_Sale From Date (virtual field created by default by Lengow) becomes YYYY-MM-DD (for example 2022-01-01)
  • Amazon_sale Through Date (virtual field created by default by Lengow) becomes YYYY-MM-DD (for example 2099-01-01)

Be careful, you also should empty PRICE REDUCTION, Amazon_SaleFromDate and Amazon_saleThroughDate fields if products are not on sale:

IF PRICE_PRODUCT IS {PRICE_REDUCTION}

SO PRICE_REDUCTION becomes (fill the field in with a space to empty the field) It is not compulsory to empty the Amazon_SaleFromDate and Amazon_saleThroughDate fields. They are virtual fields, so they are empty by definition. They would be filled in only when products are on sale.

2. Verify your parameters

To ensure that sale parameters are correctly defined, modify the optimised feed to be sure that on sale products are filled in this way:

  • “sale_price” Amazon field is filled-in with the reduced prices
  • “standard_price” Amazon field is filled-in with your original price
  • “sale_from_date” Amazon field is filled-in with a date (the nomenclature should be yyyy-mm-dd, for example: 2022-01-01)
  • “sale_end_date” Amazon field is filled-in with a date (the nomenclature should be yyyy-mm-dd, for example: 2099-01-01)

1st comment : Regarding products that are not on sale, only “standard_price” Amazon field should be filled in with the price.

2nd comment : According to Amazon requirements, if you sell declined products, “sale_price”, “standard_price”, “sale_from_date” and “sale_end_date” fields should be empty for parents products. To ensure they will be, your parents products management automatic rule should apply after your sales management automatic rule. Within the “Automatic rules” tab, rules apply from the top to the bottom. Do not hesitate to move rules to comply with the right order:

Happy sales on Amazon!
