Spartoo / Summer Sales 2019

Here are a few tips to help you prepare your 2019 Summer Sales on Spartoo.

Before starting to configure your sales on Spartoo, please read the information below carefully in order to acquaint yourself with the whole process.e

To ensure that your data is online from the first days of the sales, you must transmit your sales offers in your Optimized feed to Spartoo before December 21, 2018 at the latest. For more information, contact your account manager at Spartoo.

1. Definition of expected values

To set up sales, fill in the following fields:

  • start_date : Date on which the Sales period starts.
  • stop_date : Date on which the Sales period ends. "time stampformat

If you do not specify a start and end date in the optimized feed sent to Spartoo, but you send a price_discount, or a discount percentage ("rate"), the promotion or Sales starts immediately.

  • product_price: strikethrough price of your product (original price). If your product is not discounted, this field must be filled in with your usual selling price.
  • price_discount: discounted price of your product.

or

  • rate: discount percentage. Spartoo expects a positive integer without the % symbol (e.g. 20).
  • sales: select "TRUE" so that your offers can appear in the "Sales" section on Spartoo. This attribute enables to distinguish special offers and sales.

1.1 Strike through price

This is the field which contains the selling price of the product outside of the period of sales and promotions. This field must always be populated.

1.2 Discount rate: Rate

The discount rate is called "Rate" by Spartoo. The expected value is a positive integer without the % symbol (e.g.: 20).

1.3 Discount price: Price Discount

The discount price is called "Price Discount" by Spartoo. The expected value is a numerical value with no indication of currency (e.g.: 69) and decimal numbers must be separated by a point (no comma).

1.4 Start and end dates of sales

These dates must be entered in two separate fields. If you do not specify a start and end date in the optimised feed sent to Spartoo but send a discount price or a percentage of discount, the sales or promotion will start immediately.

Two formats are accepted, the "time stamp" format is however preferred:

  • AAAA-MM-JJ HH:ii:SS (dash, space, colon)

For example:

  • the start date of the sales: 2019-06-25 08:00:00
  • the end date of the sales: 2019-08-26 16:00:00
  • time stamp: To learn more about this, visit this site: http://www.unixtimestamp.com/

1.5 Sales indicator

The sales indicator enables Spartoo to distinguish between sales and promotions. This option allows your sales products to appear in the "sales" environment of Spartoo. You must add a sales indicator with the value "oui" if the product is in the sales or "non" if the product is not in the sales.

2. Operation

Spartoo expects at least one of the following two values: "Discount Price" or "Discount rate".

Case 1:  You do not have a discount rate in your source feed, but you have a discount price field: Spartoo calculates the percentage of discount from the discount price and the strike through price that you have given them. All discounts will be rounded downwards by Spartoo by increments of 1 %.

Case 2: You have a discount rate in your source feed, but you do not have a discount price field: Spartoo will automatically calculate the discount price from the discount rate and the strike through price that you have given them. All discounts will be rounded downwards by Spartoo by increments of 1 %. For example, if you indicate a percentage of discount of 20.5 % in your source feed Spartoo will apply a discount of 20 % to your strike through price.

Case 3: The discount price and the discount rate are populated in your source feed: Spartoo always chooses the discount price.

Case 4: The discount price and the discount rate are not populated in your source feed, you must enter at least one of these two values to be able to display products for the sales or promotions on Spartoo.

3. Adding the necessary fields

3.1 Adding Rate and Price Discount fields

If you do not have a field containing the discount price or the discount rate in your source feed, you will have to create at least one virtual field in the "Source feed" tab of your Spartoo feed for one or the other of these values.

In our example we will name these two fields in the following way:

  • Spartoo_Rate
  • Spartoo_PriceDiscount

As a reminder, the title of virtual fields must not contain special or accented characters, neither should they duplicate an existing field in the source feed.

Once this/these virtual field(s) have been created, they will automatically move up in the field matching to follow the fields of your source feed. If these two fields do not automatically move up to follow the fields of your source feed in the field matching, contact our customer support to request an indexing of your Spartoo feed. Be sure to communicate the reason for your request.

3.2 Creating automatic rules

You have just created the "Spartoo_rate" virtual field and/or the "Spartoo_PriceDiscount" field.

For the moment these fields are empty in the optimised feed. Create an automatic rule to populate them. In the example below, we populate the "Spartoo_Rate" field.

We apply a percentage of discount to the current sales price. The rates present in the source feed will be reduced by 20% on Spartoo (pay attention to the condition of the automatic rule in order to affect only the products that you will be offering in the sales).

In the example below, we populate the "Spartoo_PriceDiscount" field. We apply a percentage of discount to the current sales price. In the same way, the rates present in the source feed will be reduced by 20% on Spartoo

Pay attention to the condition of the automatic rule in order to affect only the products that you will be offering in the sales.

3.3 Configure the period of application of your sales or promotions operations

As we have seen previously, the sales and promotions start on Spartoo as soon as the discount price or the discount rate is present in the feed. If you want to enter one of these two values in the feed in advance and ensure that the promotions / sales start later, you can choose to:

  • Populate the two fields "Date de début de soldes" (=start date) and "Date de fin de soldes" (=end date) in the optimised feed sent to Spartoo
  • Send the values of discount prices and/or discount rates only on the dates of your choice via the definition of a period of application in the automatic rules. Attention, with this option it is not certain that your products will be in the sales on Spartoo at 8 a.m. on the first day of the sales.

3.3.1 Populate the fields "Date de début de soldes" and "Date de fin de soldes"

If, you do not have a field containing the start and end dates for the sales or promotions in your source feed, you will have to create virtual fields in the "Source feed" tab of your Spartoo feed. In our example we will name these two fields in the following way:

  • Spartoo_DateDebut
  • Spartoo_DateFin

Once these virtual fields have been created, they will automatically move up in the field matching to follow the fields of your source feed.

If these two fields do not automatically move up to follow the fields of your source feed in the field matching, contact our customer support to request an indexing of your Spartoo feed. Be sure to communicate the reason for your request.

For the moment these virtual fields are empty in the optimised feed. To populate them, you can add two lines to the result of the automatic rule that you have just created.

3.3.2 Or add a period of application to the rule you have created

You can also choose not to go through these virtual fields and assign a period of application to the automatic rule that you created during point 3.2 Creating automatic rules.

Note: with this option it is not certain that your products will be in the sales on Spartoo at 8 a.m. of the first day of the sales.

Once these virtual fields and automatic rules have been created, remember to check the values present in your optimised feed.

3.4 Configure the sales indicator

For your sales products to appear in the "sales" environment of Spartoo, you must add a sales indicator in your Spartoo feed. To do this, take the following steps:

3.4.1 Creating a virtual field

Create a virtual field that you must, at Spartoo’s request, necessarily name like this: "Spartoo_Soldes".

3.4.2 Automatic Rules

A / Create a first automatic rule to populate the "Spartoo_Soldes" virtual field with the value "non" by default.

Pay attention to the condition of the automatic rule in order to affect all the products of your Spartoo feed.

B / Then create a second automatic rule to populate the "Spartoo_Soldes" virtual field with the value "oui" for your sales products only during the sales period.

Note: You must ensure that your automatic rule A (to enter the value "non") applies before your automatic rule B (to enter the value "oui"). In the "Automatic Rules" tab, the automatic rules apply from the top to the bottom. Do not hesitate to move them to observe the correct order (rule A should appear above rule B).

Once these virtual fields and automatic rules have been created, remember to check the values that are present in your optimised feed on the first day of the sales.

4. Contact Spartoo

In general, you must inform your Spartoo account manager that you have added fields in the optimised feed for them to be taken into account. Remember to contact your account manager two weeks before the Sales start at the latest!

Find the "Sales on Spartoo" documentation on line in your seller account.

5. End of sales

If you have chosen to use an automatic rule to send the values of discount rate and/or discount price only during the sales (cf points 3.3.1 and 3.3.2), these fields will therefore no longer be populated on the day after the sales. The products will then be proposed for sale at the amount present in the strike through price.

We hope you have a good sales season on Spartoo!
