Zalando / Winter Sales 2020

For Zalando, special offers and sales are configured in the same way in Lengow. Here is a tutorial that explains how to set them up.

Sales offers must be sent to Zalando through your Lengow feed the morning of the sales period starts.

1. Defining expected fields

Zalando accepts 2 types of values in the optimised feed:

  • CurrentSalesPrice”: the discounted sales price must appear in this field
  • PreviousSalesPrice”: the crossed-out price (previous sales price) must appear in this field

1.1 The "CurrentSalesPrice" field

You should put the reduced price in this field. This means the sales price during the sale/special offer.

1.2 The "PreviousSalesPrice" field

You must enter the crossed-out price in this field. This is the sales price before the sale/special offer. The value entered here must be higher than the value in the “CurrentSalesPrice” field.

When the product is not on sale or on special offer, this field must always be filled with a value equal to that in the “CurrentSalesPrice” field.

1.3 Add necessary fields

1.3.1 Example 1

My source feed contains a “percentage of discount” field, but does not contain a “PriceDiscount" field.

Step 1: If your source feed does not contain a reduced price field, you must create a virtual field in the “Source feed” tab of your Zalando feed.

In our example, we will name this field as follows:

  • "Zalando_PriceDiscount"

Remember that the titles of virtual fields must not contain special characters or accents, and must not be the same as the title of an existing field in the source feed.

Step 2: Once this virtual field is created, go to the tab named “Field matching”. Match the “CurrentSalesPrice” field with your virtual field named “Zalando_PriceDiscount“.

Step 3: This virtual field is empty for the time being in the optimised feed. To fill it in, create an automatic rule for discounted products.

Make sure the condition for the automatic rule only affects the products that you are going to put on sale.

In this automatic rule, we have defined the following result: [{Pricenorebate}][{soustraction}][{Pricenorebate}-{multiplication}-{percentage_of_reduction}]

Please also make sure that the titles of the fields used in the calculation rule are adjusted.

Step 4: Create another automatic rule in order to fill the virtual field with your sales price for products that are not discounted.

Make sure the condition for the automatic rule only affects the products that you are not going to put on sale.

1.3.2 Example 2

My source feed contains a “pricenorebate” field, which is empty when my product is not on sale or on special offer.

Create an automatic rule to fill your “prix barré” field when your product is not on sale or on special offer.

Make sure the condition for the automatic rule only affects the products that you are not going to put on sale.

Caution: Note that Zalando immediately displays the discount in the optimised feed.

If your discounted prices are released in your product catalogue before the start of the sale, apply an activation period to your automatic rules.

2. Check fields in optimised feed

Once you have configured your Zalando feed for the sale/special offers, make sure the fields needed by Zalando are completed as follows in your optimised feed :

Your product is on sale/on special offer:

  • "currentSalesPrice" : the sales price for the product will be displayed in this field
  • "previousSalesPrice" : the previous sales price for the product will be displayed in this field

Your product is not on sale/on special offer:

  • "currentSalesPrice" : the sales price for the product will be displayed in this field
  • "previousSalesPrice" : the sales price for the product will be displayed in this field (the value of this field must be identical to the value of the “currentSalesPrice” field)

3. How Zalando works

When Zalando receives a discounted price for a product, the discount is automatically displayed in the shop.

Discounts will appear on Zalando as follows:

We hope you have a good experience with your sale on Zalando!
